Here are the 2 Kmart Hot Wheels Event dates for 2013...
September 14th
November 2nd
Show is free for everyone who would like to attend and it starts at 9am, so be sure to get to the store early so you can take part in the Event as many stores hand out tickets to be randomly drawn to have your ticket #er pulled from a hat or box...

For the record, I'm not a big Hot Wheels collector. But, I have been to a few K-Day events. I am especially interested when there is a new BWF vehicle coming out. The last K-Day was a snoozer for me. This time, the KMart employees didn't review or enforce the "rules" of the event. I guess it depends on the store, but if there are obviously more people than cases, I think the "rules" should be adhered to. No, I wasn't a lucky ticket holder, but that's OK. I have been lucky in the past.
As I understand "The Rules":
No cases are opened until all have been distributed to the lucky ticket holders. The first group of participants should be at the tables provided (not in the other aisles) ONE person per box! (no "coaching" the kid) The first group has 5 minutes to pull ONLY 5 cars. After 5 minutes, all others are allowed to select cars.
In the past, the "rules" work when they are followed - especially when there are more people than cases. When there are no rules, there is resentment.
Too bad there aren't more K-Days like this: My friend Rob (aka ECchopper) lives on Cape Cod. At the KMart he goes to, there are more cases than people. The manager is very friendly and everyone gets along. They raffle off the extra cases and they even give others a TH or two if they need them. Afterward, they clean everything up and even offer to hang the leftovers. Obviously, that group doesn't need "The Rules". That K-Day is more like a utopia. Bottom line, this hobby is meant to be fun. At least that's my take on it.

Robs Kmart sounds like my Kmart during the K Day event.... Last K Day we had 8 cases left over and they were raffled off to the ticket holders... At the end of each event I will usually stay behind after everyone gets what they want and help the Kmart employees out in cleaning things up a little and then I will leave.... I usually leave with maybe 10 Cars if a certain casting catches my eye just like the Cars I sent ya Mark, the silver ones were Kmart exclusives LOL, but you put them to good use... When it comes to that casting I usually buy 10+ as you never know who may need them
