Firefox Helpful Hints

I thought I would share some hints... I have come across an issue where quicktime does not play in firefox after I updated to Firefox 21 if some of you have come across this same issue here is how you fix it (if you have quicktime already installed on your computer)

1    Open a new tab in firefox
2    Type in the address bar --------->  about:config
3    Click on I will be careful
4    When the preferences and their status appear type this in the search bar ------------->   plugins.load_appdir_plugins
5    If the value for this preference is set to false double click on it to set the value to true
6    Close the tab and you are done.

Note
if you do not have quicktime on your computer here is the link to download it for windows 7.  For some reason computers used to come with quicktime but not anymore. 


Here is another helpful hint.  I did this for Dan because he didn't like the way the tabs were on the top of the address bar...

1    Open a new tab in firefox
2    Type in the address bar --------->  about:config
3    Click on I will be careful
4    When the preferences and their status appear type this in the search bar ------------->   browser.tabs.onTop
5    if the value for this preference is set to true double click on it to set the value to false
6.   Close the tab and you are done.

Note
To change it back to the tabs on top follow the above instructions and change the value to true
