As promised, here are the latest updates! A few more test shots have rolled in, plus a handful of the first 2.99 painted pre-production samples. The test shots are a little rough around the edges and still require corrections! I'll keep everyone updated on our progress. Hope you enjoy. ------------------------------- Here is the long-awaited 1976 Cadillac Coupe De Ville test shot. The hood gap by the windshield is a little out-of-control and will be corrected. Plus, glass will be added to the rear side window.  True 1:64. Seriously. Here's the Caddy compared to the 1965 GT40.  The 1971 Mustang Mach 1.   Here's the first painted pre-production sample of the 2013 Camaro ZL1 convertible.  1967 Buick GS first pre-production sample   As things come in, I'll try and keep everyone updated. Mike |

Welcome to the Zone Mike, Thanks for sharing some test shots with us and I look forward to seeing what else you have planned for the future. Do you have any plans for some Ford Galaxies or Falcons, or how about some Buick Cyclones?

Thanks Good question.. here are the packaging sneaks: This will be the 6.99 price point including a clear acrylic case. As you can see, it features a license tie-in. It is a clamshell plastic sealed package. This is the 5.99 price point. It includes a small mini-box for storing the car after the package is opened. The illustrations are unique to each package matching the car. This is a standard blistercard.
Lastly, here are the 2.99. It's just the car with no frills. The illustrations for the entire release is just ONE of the cars in the release on a smaller blistercard.
 EDIT: Forgot to mention: As of now, Walmart, Meijer, Toys R Us, and Hobby Lobby will carry this line. Plus, there will be some online dealers, but not sure who. |

wow thanks for sharing Mike, I look forward to seeing these in my walmart. My walmart has nada and it would be nice to see something new in it for once. Do you know when we can expect to see them in the stores.

A cool bit of info concerning the Auto World GT40 that was shared elsewhere this afternoon, is that while the engine cover is sealed, the AW team fully modeled the engine and exhaust beneath, expecting it to be much more visible than it actually is... So if any of you customizers out there want to open up the car and let that engine and pipes see the light of day, they will be there waiting for you.
Also, the possibility of a Gulf GT40 has been discussed. Nothing certain as of now, but the AW team has discussed it. So here's hoping!

I can't tell you how many THs I find as people just do not look, so keep your mind in the game and think positive :Thumbs up: Well Tom and LL, am more lucky online than i am at stores. In the last coupe of years I've being lucky at Collectible Corners when it come to chase cars on GLs and M2s. As for HW THs?.. I never bother to look for one because up here where I live there is never one left and I don't have the reason to start now at 54 (My opinion guys) My GLs and M2 chase cars has brought me money between $15 for one to $240 for 10 and I still have about 20 that am not going to even sell until am ready to retired. As for these New AW 1/64, if I find a chase?? it won't be open.. I'll just pass it on to my GodSon or Grand Son.... :Thumbs up: |

I'm just buttoning things up here at work before I head out. Here's one more small update before Memorial weekend. Here's the 2011 Hennessey Camaro that is apart of the 6.99 price tier. This will be in the Road & Track Magazine series. This car was formerly of the True L.E. lineage. It was supposed to be the second car in that program, but we never produced it, and of course never destroyed the tool. Since there was no release 2, this car only made it to test shot stage. Tony finalized the casting and we migrated it into the new 1:64 line where we can continue to reuse this casting. She's a looker, in my opinion.    This is the newly-tooled acrylic case that will be included with ALL 6.99 price-point cars. The final case will have the name printed on the angled portion. Also, the car is NOT screwed down.  I'm trying to keep several boards updated, so I apologize for the redundancy to people who frequent multiple sites! Have a good Memorial weekend everyone. |
