Coming in a little late here... Just wanted to say, that red Aston Martin is a very nice find! Even with the paint chips, I would be happy to have that in my collection. I have the more common light metallic green version. The red version usually commands steep prices; I hope yours didn't break the bank!
Yesterday, I took delivery of a 30+ lot of Lesneys from ebay. Most of the pieces are in nice shape - some are in near-mint condition. The 61b Alvis Stalwart that came in the mix had a lovely patina of crusted dirt in the wheel wells! Off came all six tires! I am happy to report that it cleaned up nicely and is now in very saleable condition. Most of the pieces from this lot are for sale but there are 4 that I am keeping for my collection - 16c Scammell Snow Plough with GPW and very good paint; 26b Foden Cement Mixer with GPW, very good paint as well; 66c GMC Scenicruiser Coach - although it is the common amber window version, the intact "Greyhound" decal has yellowed with age so it appears to be a variation (now if I could only score a clear window version); lastly, I'm keeping the 72a Fordson Major tractor (with orange front hubs) to replace one in my collection since it has much better paint (it did get a donor rear tire from the one I had).
Lately, I have rekindled my love affair with Lesney Matchbox. They simply have so much charm and character!

Mark, unfortunately I collect a lot of matchbox from the 50's right up to about 1993, so there's plenty to buy. Regular wheels are always great of course. Here's a very minty looking car transporter I just bought. It will go nicely with my other one.

That transporter is indeed very nice! Your other transporter with the Crestas and Vauxhall Victor looks nice, too. I am considering adding some of the Major Pack pieces (including one of those transporters) to my collection. Currently, I only have the M3 Thornycroft Mighty Antar and Sankey tank transporter trailer with Centurion tank. (wow! that's a mouth full :Big Grin:) Along the line of military pieces, I am still trying to acquire the 55a D.U.K.W. amphibious truck. Nice examples of that casting get away from me ($$$). Some day...
I am sticking with the pre-1970 Lesney Matchboxes. Further, I am really not interested in the very early Moko Lesney pieces - many of them are very small. It boils down to I collect what I like!

Already here and loaded. Yes Mark...well, I'm not sure sometimes. I browse, see something, study up on it, variations etc. and then I might or might not buy it. I'm not that Lesney crazy, so MOY, Superkings, Battlekings and the like will mostly stay out of my collection. I had a closer look at Muffin the Mule the other day but then I passed on that one too.

I love the military / Field Gun why can't we find stuff like this now a days... I agree Shell, Corporations today only care about bright colors and dumb graffiti tampos on cars that they think kids want or even the collectors .... If they would bring back to the real looking Cars, there sales would sky rocket.... I can not express that enough in what would sell these days but no Corporation wants to listen.... Wish I had a million or two $$$ to start my own company

I was going to venture out to seek a 2c Muir Hill Dumper with the "Muir Hill" decal as a variation to the common "Laing" decal version until I learned that version was a promo for the Muir Hill company. It commands serious coin - more than I care spend.
A red 53a Aston just sold on ebay for $70 US - paint chips and all!
Your red Superfast 75b is stunning! Looks to be near-mint to mint!
I finally got the 55a D.U. K. W. for a reasonable price! I'm suprised how small it is compared to the other Lesney military vehicles. It was the last piece I needed to complete my Lesney military collection. My most recent Lesney acquisition is the 38c Honda with the orange trailer from a seller in England. Very nice paint, especially on the trailer; even the black kickstand is intact.

The red Berlinetta is great, but it does have a collapsed front suspension as is a common fault with that issue. I'm quite excited about the Commer pickup actually. In this colour you also pay "serious coin". A mint one in mint box sold for 200 dollars here two weeks ago and I wasn't prepared to pay that after I got the orange Fords for 135 each. So I'm happy I got this play worn example instead and for much cheaper. Check this out: www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk/1index/xx50a.htmI see the 55a a lot in job lots and such things around here, I didn't think it was tough to get. Glad you have one!

Yes, you're right about that version of the Commer pickup commanding steep prices. I have a tan version with knobbly gray plastic wheels and a light tan version with metal wheels. The 30c Faun 8-wheel crane was my very first Lesney Matchbox as a child. I guess you could say that one little metal toy started my diecast addiction!
