We all have little tricks for making our diorama's for me I use a lot of poster board, foam board and sticky printable labels. I also not too long ago found some very interesting pre made mats that come in grass and dessert sand. They also have a road kit that will make parking areas, striping, sidewalks, etc.. A company called Woodland Scenics offers these kits and I found the mats at HobbyTown USA and just found the road kit. Below is one of the grass mats that I have purchased and they come in different sizes from 12.5 inches by 14 1/8 inches all the way up to 50 inches by 100 inches.

The mat that I am going to use for the junk yard that I am going to start working on tom is this one. What I plan on doing is gluing this down to a piece of foam board and when it is dry very carefully cutting along the edges and having a nice and steady base. You should be able to get these at any hobby shop or visit them directly. WOODLAND SCENICS

Ok I found some pages that have signs, printable background buildings for card stock and some other useful stuff so I am going to start a thread that we all can post this information on . If you have found a good sight that offers supplies, signs, and anything useful for making diorama's post it here. One board that I belong too has a lot of good items, and one of them is printable background buildings and signs. Here is just part of what they offer. and here is the link to the thread of the signs and billboards. There are six pages alone of signs and billboards. Signs and Billboards

Ok yesterday the girlfriend told me to take the car to work since I now have my drivers license and I did. At lunch time I decided heck with sitting around the property and ran over to HobbyTown USA which is about a mile from where I work at. I picked up some more desert mats and found these cool pre-made wall pieces for my juck yard. They come in HO and N Scale and have several different styles. Take a minute and check them out at the link below. Chooch Stone Walls

Hey guys and gals I found a site that is helping me make my Junk Yard office building. I finally decided to make a Quonset Hut for the office and I found a PDF file that talks about making one. So here is the link to it. Quonset HutAlong with some great information on Quonset Huts. Quonset: Metal Living For a Mondern Age

I hope this information helps in creating those Dioramas... Here is another link to a site I found with some generic buildings and it gives you a clue on how tall your building should be to the scale diorama you are creating.

I see alot of great stuff to put a Dio together :Thumbs up: I guess that is our next project Dan.... Teaching you all over again how to use publisher.... Well at least we have the remote assistance down now...I find it a lot easier to show you by visuals than trying to explain on the phone how to do it. I would think you agree...
