Some of you may remember me some (newbies) may not. I have been out of collecting for about 6 months now due to divorce and trying to get my life in order. Yesterday, I discovered my ex-wife's son has been selling my diecast collection on ebay for the last couple months. My ex and I are still friendly and she agreed to let me store my stuff at the house until I have a place to put it. Last weekend she kicked her son out for many reasons. She had contacted me last night to tell me his dad noticed all kinds of "toys" just popped up at his house. After some investigating we discovered he had been going through my diecast boxes and selling the cars on ebay. I called the police and filled out a report. I have received "most" of what he had listed back. I don't ever expect to see any of the sold cars back or some others, but it really bothers me. The only part of my collection that has been consistent is my 442 collection, it took me 15 years to put it together and in a heartbeat some of the most important ones to me are gone and I now have to "rebuy" them. Ebay and paypal have been notified, with a police report number, but they're not doing much. I would like to let all of you know if you bought any of the cars in the sellers link below that the car(s) you purchased ARE stolen. Please report to paypal you received stolen property. If you can get your money back and would like to help me retrieve MY collection back please contact me. Like I said the only part I REALLY cared about was the 442's. Seller tjarvais |

I sure remember ya Steve... That is a pure bummer and I am soooo very, very sorry to hear that my friend. know that sick pain from when several of my vintage MBs got swiped from a show I had them displayed at. I had some of those cars over 50 years.
I sincerely wish there was something we could for ya buddy... I do wish ya the best and hope ya can get as many back as ya can !!!

Wowwww, That kid has some serious balls to do what he did Steve.... I am very sorry to hear this kind of news... That kid would of been in a body cast if it was my collection he tampered with, he would have to learn how to walk all over again.... I know many diecast cars can be replaced but when a person owns prototypes and hard to find pieces, that is where it gets dicey in how to replace them.... I see quite a few HW Redlines that he sold on his auction that will take some time to replace which sucks as we all know they keep rising in price and are getting harder to find up for sale.... I wish ya the best Steve in obtaining them again, wish I could help but I only have a hand full of Redlines in my collection from my childhood...

Well that sucks. Good luck getting them back, I hope E-Bay helps you out getting them back from the people that bought them. I will keep my eyes open for them at the Toy Shows, maybe we can help you rebuild the collection.

Its a shame this happened to you Squimb1, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to have built up a awesome 442 collection just to have the rare and expensive ones just disappear like that. Thieves, its pretty easy to hate them especially ones who steal others personal possessions just for there own selfish self gain.
