I have no clue where to post Tin Toys so I will park it here. I doubt if any of you guys collect this kind of thing its a 1940s 1950s thing. Just in case any of you guys care about your collections and think you have them insured under contents insurance think again . To be insured for the real value you have to have it appraised and insured as a collection. Now there is a way around it if you have a claim but you really don't want to go there unless you like a challenge. This one was a 1 of 400 1:34 scale . A 6 year old took it for a test drive it fell off the table fell on the front bumper broke it in a couple of chunks.. The car he had hooked on the back ripped the boom apart and the back bumper fell off. So it failed the test a 50 dollar truck that cant even be played with l.o.l. anyways it will be a sandbox toy now l.o.l. Why do I collect this kind of stuff you ask l.o.l. When I was 13 I lied about my age said I was 16 and got a part time job working in this old gas station .So Supertest just reminds me of a fun time in life. 13 years old my dad let me buy a old 46 chev coupe to work on at home so cars became a life long hobby large or small l.o.l.

One young guy did all the windows, one guy checked under the hood, one guy pumped gas and the new kid on the block checked all 4 tires l.o.l. This old station was one busy place . The picture was taken the day it was being shut down .A expressway was being built behind it.I still have junk that was being tossed out that day like the oil cans and oil rack a gas pump l.o.l

That Tow Truck is incredible , Congrats and the story about that Service Station....I love it Patrick Thanks Patrick .. The tow truck is neat but was never meant to play with .But how else is a kid going to learn the difference between a model and a toy. The look on the little guys face was so funny when he broke the truck he said I guess this is not a toy truck I said it is now . l.o.l.

Great collection Jim.... I hear ya about insurance on a collection as I looked into once and had decided to not insure my collection as it would of cost me more to put insurance on it than replace the items in my collection... I do own quite a few 1/1's Prototypes etc.. but the $$$$$ #ers still don't add up to insure my collection so I try to keep my collection at finger tips away if I had to grab pieces if the house were to catch on fire..... I'm diggin the Tow Truck as well as I love the older vehicles...

I'm diggin the Tow Truck as well as I love the older vehicles... Our collection was not insured as a collection the agent who talked us into adding more coverage never mentioned it had to be added as a collection . When we made our claim they give us a hard time . I put in my claim as a DECOR THEME ...TOYS .... My grandson had taken hundreds of pictures of everything in the house plus videos of kids playing with trains and a slot car track he was making a movie l.o.l. So that video showed the Décor of the house and it had to all be replaced .Almost 2 years later we are done with it. The amount per month to add the increased content amount was only about 50 dollars a month. The cost to replace the things we had collected a little over 90000. So well worth the increase per month. We had 250000 content insurance at the time. So add a bit more to your contents .Insure it as a DECOR THEME and take lots of pictures .Doubt it will cost very much.
