Here is a good idea on how to display your carded Hot Wheels on a wall and an nifty idea to display your loose cars.
How to display Hot WheelsI was told I had to learn how to insert a video into my posts rather then a link, I wont mention any names "cough, liv, cough" so here is video and the link.. LMAO

Excellent and outstanding link Shell... I am building a new addition on my garage for a larger toyroom now... 16 feet by 22 feet, it will be rather large and plenty of play space. This link helped me out a lot on displaying ideas... Thanks Shell !!!

This link helped me out a lot on displaying ideas... Thanks Shell !!! Shocked I think that is bigger than my whole house... :'( LMAO Actually my garage is bigger than my whole house by about 2' I think. It has a basement (which I wont go in because it is scarey down there Didn't do it ) and it has an attic (I wont go up there either because it is to high and I will start to :'( because I don't like heights) Besides that is my husbands area, I just store stuff in it, like my car, my daughters old toys, some stuff I got when my mom passed away. Come to think of it, I guess after 4 years when it gets warmer, I should go through some of the stuff and give him back some of his space back... LMAO

I do the same thing with the grooved strapping, except I make display boards. I don't stick the straps directly to the wall. I use white foam board, cut it to the dimensions I want, and then set it up the way he does. Examples are the JL Coke set and the Gassers set. I did something different when I made my Richard Petty display, however, because of the weight. Remember the Racing Champions "50 Years of Petty" cars? I used wooden lattice to build the frame and to mount each piece of strapping. I decided to make 5 columns representing each decade.

Nice collection Jim, did you build the case yourself? Shell, yes I did, I was getting sick of having cars all over the place. One Saturday I was bored and spotted all this scarp wood from other projects in the basement. Know I need to build some more for me and I got a few other people in my car club after me to build some. Maybe I could start a business...LOL

Jim you could probably sell them at a car show or a flea market / swap meet. I think it might cost a lot to ship them, but you could always post them on the boards and see if anyone is interested in buying them. You never know people who are not crafty enough to build them but would like to have one or two would be willing to pay the price. It is worth a shot.

I'm at work so I can't get out to YouTube to get the link, but there's a video by a guy called SMUToys... What a hot mess. LOL He had stuff stacked in his parents bedroom and their closet. I wasn't exactly suprised he still lived at home, but he's the closest collector I've ever seen to needing an intervention.

Those wall rails are a great idea but i'm a peg board guy. Small paper clips work great and they let the cards sit pretty flat on each other.

Their was an old skool collector in my area that used to use Slim Fast Boxes to store his Hot Wheels in... He told me that he had thousands on top of thousands of them all packed in his 3 bedroom house.... Well, sad news came across the city where I live that he passed away 2 years ago and from what I heard his wife was dumping his collection on her sisters doorstep up in Montana to get rid of his collection.... I tried to help her out with phone #ers to a few collector who could of gave her quite a bit of cash for his collection as his collection was somewhat old in HW being on cards in years + Redlines etc.. , but she wanted to do it her way and that was offload it to her sisters home.
I sure do hope his collection made it to a few collectors who could appreciate in what he had.... He had a awesome collection :Not Worthy:

If you can't find ceiling strapping try "Sequentia Wall Panel Moulding" on lowes.com. It comes in 8' sections of almond and white. You probably won't find that brand of double sided tape either... There are several 3M brands that have weight capacities of 20+ lbs. I'd rather mount the moulding to a 2'x2' or 4'x4' 1/4" piece of paneling or wall board using Liquid Nails...and then hang the board (since I live in an apartment)
