Hello everyone, I just received a email today about a member in need of help on the Diecastspace.com and wanted to share it with you.... If you a collector who buys from online sources for special cars, then this will be a great time to help out a member on the DCS site as he once again is fighting cancer... Please read the email that was sent to me... Thank you... DiecastSpace has always stepped up and helped collectors from abroad in the event of a life altering experience. We are asking for your help today as a fellow member would benefit tremendously. Mickey Stone has attended all of the DiecastSpace conventions and has been a huge supporter of the store since day one. Any time we have sent out a message like this, him and his wife Michelle always stepped up and helped in so many ways donating money and making purchases to help those in need. Mickey was diagnosed with cancer a year ago which he battled successfully. The cancer has returned and Mickey is now battling once again which we all know Mickey well enough to say, he will win this battle as well. Our goal is to raise enough money to send Mickey and his family to the DCX Las Vegas Super Convention. In 2012, Mickey was inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame and recognized for his constant contributions to others in need. Every single store purchase made until this Sunday will be donated to a fund to help send Mickey and his family to Vegas. We wanted him to have something fun to look forward to and spend time with the people that mean the most to him. I received the e-mail as well and my whole thoughts on it could be controversial but I will voice my opinion. And hope it does not offend anyone... If my opinion offends anyone I apologize I am just voicing my opinion.
First I am sorry to hear that Mickey's cancer has returned. I know it is a horrible thing to deal with, my mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and battled it and survived and it had returned again and lost her battle with it in 2008. So my thoughts and prayers go out to Mickey and his family.
However, I disagree with how Diecastspace is using the proceeds towards a trip to the 2014 Convention in Vegas. I feel Diecastspace should donate the ticket on their cost to Mickey and his family and all the proceeds from the sales should go to Mickey's Dr. / Hospital bills. What would it be for all the DCX and Diecastspace members to all pitch in and contribute to pay for the Vegas Convention tickets for Mickey and his family.
Again just my opinion, sorry if anyone was offended..

I have to agree with Shell. The money should be going for the help of the treatment of his cancer. What the heck is the issue with DieCast Space......... Are you a bunch of idiots why can't you take the proceeds and use them to help pay for the medical bills.

I am actually on the fence about why Diecastspace rather use the money to have Mickey at the next Convention Show than use the money to help him & his family with the medical bills.... I wouldn't mind helping Mickey with the medical bills in a donation, but not help pay for him to have a vacation.... Health comes first over pleasure, so the staff at Diecastspace need to re-think how to help him if they choose too than try to bring him to 2014 Show in Las Vegas.... Mickey is a great standup guy no doubt as I spent some time with him and his boy during the 2012 Bingo Game... Mickey shared his door prizes with us at the table passing around 5 Camaros with all the variations.... If Diecastspace like to make a link on their website for donations, then I will donate, but only if the money will be used for his medical bills.... Jus my .02c

I wouldn't mind helping Mickey with the medical bills in a donation, but not help pay for him to have a vacation....
