The Great Matchbox Car Thread

Ok let's see just how many Matchbox cars, trucks, Skybusters, Real Working Rigs, and other vehicles we can come up with.

The only rule is that it must be a Matchbox or Lesney That's it very simple.

So to start off here is one of my favorites..

This van is so funny because i love the song "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar, and it is a very funny story.

In 1984 I went on a road trip to see my grandparents. I had a Camaro and more than once it got away from me. I was cruising along on Interstate 70 between Columbia, Mo and Jefferson City, Mo, the exits for both cities and I had the song "I Can't Drive 55" playing on the Cassette Player when I looked up and watched this car behind me cut over to the shoulder and the next thing I knew I had a Missouri State Trooper on my tail. I pulled over after looking at my speedometer and saw that I was doing over 80 mph.

When the Trooper came up to the car all I could do was hand him my license and registration and admit to the reckless driving. I apologized to him for the excessive amount of speed and just told him the truth I was jamming out on my way to St. Louis and admitted to that I was not paying attention to how fast I was going. Well the Trooper knocked it down from 85 mph to 70 mph and said that if he would have wrote the ticket for more I would spend the night in jail. The funny thing is that when Nebraska got the information about the ticket they suspended my license for a year. And the wife/girlfriend wonders why I drive like a little old man now. By the way between what the ticket cost me in Missouri and what it cost me in Nebraska to get my license back it was well over 700 dollars in 1985.

To this day I cannot listen to the song without thinking back about that day. And yes I still love to drive to this song but now I work to keep my speeds legal.
